108 in 2008

Two of my blogger friends, Aisha and Huda, each compiled a list of 108 things they want to accomplish in 2008. This appealed to me because, while I’m somewhat anti New Year’s resolutions, I love a good list.

To me, New Year’s resolutions are empty promises which I know I’ll break. They’re things I really don’t want to do but feel I need to do. This list, 108 in 2008, is nothing like that. I want to do all these things and most of them, I actually look forward to doing because I know I’ll enjoy them. Some items on the list are things I’ve done before and find worth doing again, and some I have never done before. Some are easy and some are challenging. Some I’ve already accomplished this year! (I’ll be going in to “check” them off later.) Anyway, I think I’ve come up with a good mix. Here it is.

(Tasks that have been accomplished will be marked with an “X“)

  • wow, that’s ambitious.

so what’s the odds that i’d be the friend you meet? hmmm? a day in DC could be possible, you know. :)

i wish i had the chutz-pah to write a list, much less try to accomplish it.

i’ll be rooting for you! :)

  • Holy cow, you really got to 108. I would have quit after 7 or 8, I think. LOL.

  • That is a great list. If you can accomplish it all, you will certainly have had a full year. Good luck.

  • MAN you make it seem so simple! I mean, I dont know, it just seems so much fun all the things you will do :) I am still planning to revise a feew of my things as they’re beginning to feel like burdens… but not sure. After Jan I have aself made rule, NO CHANGING :)

    Her’es to reaching our goals!!!

  • Yay, you made a list! And it’s a great one — like Aisha said, you’re going to have so much fun crossing all those things off.

Remember to put your shoes on first when you wear that sari! ;-)

  • Ooh - I LOVE lists. And if I threw away my grannie panties AND flossed every day the world would be my oyster.

  • My list has only one thing on it. Make a list.

  • what a fun list! and all very doable, too. you’re setting yourself up for success, that’s smart. and look at how productive you’ll feel everytime you cross an item off your list. go, tee, go!

  • Great list!

I sort of always have a running list of things I want to do in my head but have never actually put it down on paper.

I am anxious to see what you accomplish this year. Have fun!

  • Ruthie - You can make a list. You’re very ambitious :) … And I think odds are in your favorite just based on simple proximity :)

Mrs. Mecomber - It actually wasn’t that hard until I got into the 90’s. You’d be surprised at what “to do” lists are floating around in your head.

    Perri - Thanks!

Aisha - Yes, this year will be fun and fulfilling if I do the things on my list. Feel free to snatch some from my list to replace anything on your list that you’re going to trash. LOL. You and Huda will be more productive, but I’ll have more fun. LOL.

Huda - This is quite a mysterious tip, but I will keep it in mind! LOL.

    Jen - LOL.

    Cynthia - Hee hee…

Patricia - Right. I picked very “do-able” things. I don’t consider it “smart”, so much as, lazy and unproductive, but oh well. LOL.

Jodi - I always have lists in my head, too. It was nice to get it all out of there!

  • I will help you accomplish 52-54 if you come visit this spring! We have an awesome Thai restaurant, I am an “expert” tree identifier now, and we have a lake for fishing! If Katie comes you can cross off spending a day with you sisters. :)
    Love ya!

  • I kept getting sidetracked reading through your list. I keep following all the links… I just donated 800 grains of rice at the freerice site. Then I followed the Live Mocha link and signed up for a Spanish course…..

A great list of goals you have!
